13 Feb 2012

A cheque for the sum of £675-34p was presented on Thursday 9th Feb to Mrs Brenda Hayman the East Lancs Co-ordinator of Prevent Unwanted Pets, a small local charity supporting neutering of domestic pets. PUP was founded in Nottingham in 1987 to prevent unwanted offspring from becoming abandoned, mistreated or unwanted pets. The East Lancs branch was formed in 1997 and pays for animals to be neutered and safely rehomed. The money was raised by Oakmount Vets annual Santa Paws charity week where the Practice Nurse clinic becomes Santa's Grotto for a week before Christmas. All the money raised came from raffle ticket sales and contributions from clients. Our most sincere thanks to our patients and their faithful owners for our best year yet.The nominated charity for 2012 is Dogs for the disabled so watch this space for fund raising events taking place throughout the course of the year.
