Diagnostic ultrasound

Ultrasound scanning provides a safe diagnostic technique in which very high frequency sound is directed into the body. It is used on soft tissue and as fluid conducts the ultrasound well it is useful for diagnosing cysts, pregnancy and problems in the urinary or biliary systems. When used on the heart it is known as echocardiography and can help determine congenital heart disease, artery disease and other heart problems.
