RCVS Advanced Practitioner - BVMS PgC(EAS) MRCVS

I qualified from Glasgow vet school in 2001, fulfilling my life-long dream of becoming a veterinary surgeon.

Whilst I love working with dogs and cats, my true passion has always been learning about the more unusual animals we share our planet with.

I’m continually fascinated by the spectrum of species…their differences, colours and unique ways of adapting to and interacting with their vastly varied environments.

In May 2018, I successfully gained my certificate in exotic animal medicine and surgery (Gp Cert Ex AP), through further study via the European School of Veterinary Post-graduate Studies, in collaboration with Harper Adams University and Improve International.

In 2021, I followed this up with my PgC in exotics and in 2022 was awarded Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

No two days are ever the same in exotic animal work, which keeps me on my toes!

I’m happy to help whatever species are being kept local to Oakmount, but also regularly see patients referred to me from veterinary practices further afield.

My veterinary role also extends to treating native wildlife, including our local bats, working alongside the RSPCA and volunteering for the hugely worthy charity Street Paws.
